最近はCTを使用して中殿筋の断面積を評価することが一般的になってきております．

今回は大腿骨近位部骨折例の中殿筋断面積とADLとの関連性を明らかにした研究論文をご紹介させていただきます．

研究の目的

We investigated the association between the cross-sectional area (CSA) of the gluteus medius muscle (GMM) and activities of daily living in patients with hip fractures.

この研究では大腿骨近位部骨折例を対象として中殿筋断面積（CSA）と日常生活動作の関連について検討することを目的としております.

研究の方法

This retrospective cohort study comprised 111 patients aged ≥65 years who underwent hip fracture rehabilitation. The CSA of the GMM was measured using computed tomography scans in the early stages of hospitalization.

この後方視的コホート研究では大腿骨近位部骨折のリハビリテーションを受けた65歳以上の症例111例を対象としております.

中殿筋の断面積は入院初期にCTを使用して測定しております．

研究の結果

The group with decreased CSA of the GMM had a median GMI ≤17 cm2/m2 for male patients and ≤16 cm2/m2 for female patients. Patients in the group with decreased CSA of the GMM had lower functional independence measure gains than those in the control group. After adjusting for confounders, we found that decreased CSA of the GMM was significantly associated with lower functional independence measure gains (β: -0.432, p < .001).

中殿筋断面積が低下した群のGMIの中央値は男性で17cm2/m2以下，女性で16cm2/m2以下でありました.

中殿筋断面積が減少した群の症例は，対照群よりもFIMの改善が乏しい結果でありました．

交絡因子を調整した結果，中殿筋断面積の減少はFIMの低下と有意に関連していることが明らかとなりました（β：-0.432、p＜.001）．
